Black Arts and the Movement

Ravyn Wngz & Syrus Marcus Ware

Art galleries and museums tend to highlight the work of Black artists during the times of really big social upheaval, but it doesn’t seem to be fully translate into actually collecting all Black work. Art in activism, on the other hand, is all about how we show up in public, how we’re allowed to show up in public, the stories that are hidden, and the stories that we want people to know about us or even share within our own community. It forces us to meet ourselves at the scariest moments. And as a result, artists help us imagine futures that we might not be able to see otherwise. This is a wonderful and uplifting conversation between Ravyn Wngz and Syrus Marcus Ware.
